It is based on the COPE Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.

Publication Ethics Guidelines :

The publication guidelines of JEI reflect the importance of maintaining a coherent and respected body of knowledge. They are a direct reflection of the quality of the work of authors and their supporting institutions. Peer-reviewed articles uphold and implement the scientific method. Therefore, it is essential to agree upon ethical standards of behavior expected from all parties involved in the publishing process: authors, editorial team, reviewers, publishers, and the wider community.

The Faculty of Economics and Business, as the publisher of JEI, takes its oversight responsibilities seriously and acknowledges both ethical and other professional responsibilities. We are committed to ensuring that advertising, reprint fees, or other commercial revenues do not influence editorial decisions. Furthermore, the Editorial Team and the Faculty of Economics and Business at UNISS Kendal are committed to effective communication with authors when necessary.

Publication Decision:

The JEI Editor is responsible for deciding which submitted manuscripts should be published. Decisions must be guided by the validity of the work and its relevance to researchers and readers. Editors may follow editorial board policies and are bound by applicable laws regarding defamation, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. Editors may consult with reviewers in making these decisions.

Fair Treatment:

Editors evaluate manuscripts based solely on intellectual content, without regard to race, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy of the authors.

Confidentiality:

Editors must not disclose any information about submitted manuscripts to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest:

Unpublished material disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in the editor’s own research without written consent from the author. If an author requests withdrawal of a manuscript under review, the editor must facilitate this request.

Reviewer Responsibilities:

Contribution to Editorial Decisions
Reviewers assist the editor in making editorial decisions and may also help authors improve their manuscripts through editorial communication.

Timeliness
Any selected reviewer who feels unqualified to review the research or who cannot complete the review on time must inform the editor and withdraw from the review process.

Confidentiality
Manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents. They must not be shown or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.

Standards of Objectivity
Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is unacceptable. Reviewers must express their opinions clearly and with supporting arguments focused only on the content of the manuscript.

Acknowledgment of Sources
Reviewers should identify relevant published work not cited by the authors. Any statements, derivations, or arguments in the manuscript must be properly referenced. Reviewers should also inform the editor of any substantial similarities or overlap with other published work of which they are personally aware.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Information obtained through the editorial process must be kept confidential and not used for personal advantage. Reviewers must decline to review manuscripts where they have a conflict of interest due to competitive, collaborative, or other relationships.
